Leveraging 25+ years of licensure, test-preparation, and continuing education product development and delivery, we’re building a linear series of assessments for institutional behavioral and mental health programs to not only prepare students for their licensing exams, but also (and more importantly) to help programs to deliver on requirements for accreditation.

We created each branch of our IT product by hiring a team of subject matter experts. Our content team leaders are licensed practitioners in their field with recent degrees from nationally accredited programs. When possible, we also consult with program evaluation specialists on our content outlines.
With support from Triad’s Test Development and Analytics Manager, content experts conduct in-depth research of accreditation requirements in their field as well as licensing exam topics and the typical progression of courses in both accredited and non-accredited programs. We utilize a top-down content outline to guide item writing for each assessment and its sub-sections.
Following the content map, items are written to satisfy each subject area and accreditation standard. Item writers use their own personal expertise as well as research to write their items. Any necessary adjustments to the map are made in order to ensure that the content is covered in the appropriate breadth and depth.
Each item is then reviewed by two other team members for content accuracy and item clarity and quality. Writers then revise items as necessary.
Finally, items are submitted to psychometric analysis in beta testing. Using both classical test theory (CTT; e.g., alpha reliability, difficulty, and discrimination), item response theory (IRT), factor analysis, and distractor analyses, we select the best items for each assessment and revise the organization of the assessment sub-sections as needed.
Integrated Testing can be a powerful tool for programs that are applying for accreditation for the first time. Our assessments include content from all knowledge domains required by accrediting bodies and can be used as evidence of student competence in each explicit curriculum domain of their field. New programs can reduce the time needed to determine which course assignments, assessments, or degree benchmarks serve as acceptable outcomes because our exams provide objective evidence of whether students have reached competency benchmarks or not. In addition, because test scores are stored in our system indefinitely, student data is readily available for download at any time and can be organized by year, semester, course, cohort, or for each student individually.
Through the AATBS brand, Triad offers continuing education courses for psychologists, social workers, Integrated Testing can also be used to replace or supplement existing outcome data for reaccreditation application or interim self-studies. Because our assessments require little administrative effort from program directors, and other administrators, they serve as a time-efficient way to demonstrate student competence. Test scores are stored in our system indefinitely, making student data readily available for download at any time without the need for faculty follow-ups.
