This episode resumes our conversation with Dr. Erin Elmore and her guest Dr. Jaimee Arnoff. In our last episode, we defined high risk behavior and the signs to look for to separate normal teen behavior to something that’s more serious and could benefit from therapy. We discussed the importance of early intervention for high-risk or at-risk teens and the first steps to welcoming youth clients into therapy and giving them a locus of control to feel comfortable and participate in therapy. We’ll resume our talk today by discussing the therapy environment, how to make it a safe space to get vulnerable, and a way to build trust.
